God-running star the magi observed and its glory they followed, and holding it like a lantern, through it searched they the mighty king. And having reached the unreachable, rejoiced crying unto him:



In the hands of the virgin the sons of the Chaldees saw him, who created men by his hand, and lord considering him, although a servant's received he the face, they hastened with gifts to adore and to cry to the blessed she:

Rejoice, never-setting star's O mother.
Rejoice, O dawn of a mystical day.
Rejoice, the furnace of error O you who has quenched.
Rejoice, the trinity's seers O you who protect.


Rejoice, O bride unmarried

Θεοδρόμον ἀστέρα θεωρήσαντες μάγοι τῇ τούτου ἠκολούθησαν αἴγλῃ· καὶ ὡς λύχνον κρατοῦντες αὐτόν͵ δι΄ αὐτοῦ ἠρεύνων κραταιὸν ἄνακτα· καὶ φθάσαντες τὸν ἄφθαστον ἐχάρησαν αὐτῷ βοῶντες·



Ἴδον παῖδες Χαλδαίων ἐν χερσὶ τῆς παρθένου τὸν πλάσαντα χειρὶ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους· καὶ δεσπότην νοοῦντες αὐτόν͵ εἰ καὶ δούλου ἔλαβε μορφήν͵ ἔσπευσαν τοῖς δώροις θεραπεῦσαι καὶ βοῆσαι τῇ εὐλογημένῃ·

Χαῖρε͵ ἀστέρος ἀδύτου μήτηρ·
χαῖρε͵ αὐγὴ μυστικῆς ἡμέρας·
χαῖρε͵ τῆς ἀπάτης τὴν κάμινον παύσασα·
χαῖρε͵ τῆς τριάδος τοὺς μύστας φυλάττουσα·


Χαῖρε͵ νύμφη ἀνύμφευτε
