Knowledge unknown seeking to know, the virgin cried to the minister: from pure womb a son how comes to be born? Tell me. To whom said he in fear yet crying thus:

Rejoice, of will ineffable O seer.
Rejoice, of those praying in silence O trust.
Rejoice, of Christ's miracles O you the preface.
Rejoice, of his commandments O pinnacle.
Rejoice, O ladder in heaven, by which descended the God.
Rejoice, O bridge who carries the earthly to heaven.
Rejoice, of angels much marveled O miracle.
Rejoice, of demons much dirged O trauma.
Rejoice, by whom the light was ineffably born.
Rejoice, by whom the how no one was taught.
Rejoice, of the wise men's knowledge O beyond.
Rejoice, O you who the mind of the faithful enlightens.

Rejoice, O bride unmarried
