hi everybody! i have been visiting this site for quite some time and thought it was high time i join the community.
alrite, i just came across this interesting take on David Copperfield that writes it off as a mere melodrama and a story for children, why dont you guys go through it and post ur opinions.

Gee, he kind of missed the point of the book, didn't he? The example description of Dora, for instance, was MAKING FUN of the melodrama of teenage David. It is supposed to have a sort of theatric, almost fantasy quality because most of Dickens' books are like that - what was he expecting, Tolstoy? He evidently read it very narrowly and literally, without looking for the deeper meanings that aren't explicitly spelled out. Not a childish book, but a childish reading.
