I think so too. Even though David suffers so much cruelty and difficulties, he does not get angry. He is so nice and polite and all.

maybe hope is the basic value,hiden in the book!But hope has 2 sides-it can help you to survive or drive you crazy.David chooses the temperate hope and he relays only on him.That`s why he finds the right way!
