How many copies of David Copperfield were sold when it was originally serialized? How does this number compare to the circulation of other works, like The Pickwick Papers and the later Sherlock Holmes novels?
Thanks for answers to any or all of these questions!

This was Dickens' eighth novel, and it was published in monthly parts from May 1849 to November 1850. It was one of Dickens most popular novels, and is still a favorite among today's readers. It would be hard to match the success of the wildly popular Pickwick, and I do not know how many copies sold.
