The fourteenth article. A good man ought so to conform his will to the divine will that he should will whatever God wills. Since God in some way wills for me to have sinned, Ι should not will that Ι had not committed sins; and this is true penitence.
The fifteenth article. If a man had committed a thousand mortal sins, if such a man were rightly disposed he ought not to will that he had not committed them.
[ Eleven articles 'evilsounding', 'very rash' and 'suspect of heresy' ]
[ Articles 16-26 are published without notes, since the Pope hesitates, that (“with many explanations and additions”) they might be understood in a non-heretical meaning. Just one word: try to imagine the dissolution of a mind that discovers a certain heresy in articles 10-13, yet having admitted that articles 20-22 might not be heretical ! ]
The sixteenth article. God does not properly command an exterior act.
The seventeenth article. The exterior act is not properly good or divine, and God does not produce it or give birth to it in the proper sense.
The eighteenth article. Let us bring forth the fruit not of exterior acts, which do not make us good, but of interior acts, which the Father who abides in us makes and produces.
The nineteenth article. God loves souls, not the exterior work.
