I don't know that anyone has written about this. Try the links on my website dickensfordummies but I don't know if there is specifically anything there.
Memory seems to be more of a theme than forgetting. No one ever seems to forget anything in this book. Betsy Trotwood has a grudge, even DC has a grudge (against the Murdstones- who can blame him).

David Copperfield is more about Dickens memory of his childhood, so it is really about his not being able to forget that he was sent off as a small child to work because his father was in debt. This one experience and the fact that Dickens felt he was cast off really affected Dickens throughout his entire life. He never was able to forget this experience.
