I am comparing DC to To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. What is the difference between 1.their descriptive qualities of their writing? 2. Their use of charaterisation.

I am too studying 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' and 'David Copperfield'. Both texts are definitley classics; one of which being of an old style and one a modern classic. The diffence in descriptive techniques is that David Copperfiled is written in a way that is expected of fairy tale. This is shown by the many surreal characters used, e.g. Mr Micawber's use of the words 'in short' so repeatedly and David's first teacher's menacing voice and stare. To Kill a Mocking Bird takes a different approach, this being a childs view that is fairly recent and therefore more easily related to. The description between the two, in conclusion, is of completely contrasting techniques.
