Dear Sirs, English Bible versions translate last sentence of James 5:16 differently. How normal native Greek person understands that sentence in Greek bible? In KJV it translated as: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. In Douay Rheims bible it translated as: For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much. In RSV: The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects. Other English versions translate this sentence in many different ways. But all English versions based on same Greek text. Please help me friends, especially Greek friends.

Hello Daambii,

The meaning is that the prayer of a just person has a great power. I guess you are confused by the verb (participle) ἐνεργουμένη. It is a figure of speech that doesn't add anything to the meaning, just specifying that this person actually prayers.
