Being invaded and occupied by americans, during and after WWII. The nazis were at least europeans, and everybody knew what to expect. Americans were, and are, much worse. The presence of americans in Europe, until this day, is our greatest tragedy.

I think most Europeans prefer the 'American occupation' instead of the Nazi. At least they did, when they greeted the entrance of the US to the ww2. Since US did not build concentration camps in Europe, all the evil you may see in their influence, is just that: an influence, which means that Europeans are responsible if they accept lower elements - they get what they want.
Since Nazis are Europeans, Europe appears to have enough evil in itself and by itself - it doesn't need to import from the US! Or, perhaps, we should say in such a case, that we are more likely to export our evil to the US, than the opposite, so that in our relationship US appears to be in a greater danger than we are. But the way that you write about this matter reveals that you have no idea about the horror that nazism means. |

As a person who was alive during WW2 and who was bombed by Nazi Airforce and who had family members KILLED by Nazis. To talk of an American Invasion is just plain stupidity. Perhaps the writer who fulminates against America would have been MUCH happier under the NAZI JACKBOOT. Europeans ALLOWED HITLER, MUSSOLINI and FRANCO to pervert the idea of being European. Try reading some reliable history, before making inane remarks. Yours Truly- Kal Löwe
