Hi, I am taking a Womens Leadership Class in my Bible Teaching Church in order to get the approval to teach N.T. Greek. One of the final requirements is to read and write a paper regarding the office of deaconess in the church (For/against). So far I have read from an early edition of encyclopedia of Elefteroudakis (I suspect it is not a sound source of info), wikipedia, early church councils and the book "Vital N.T. Issues" by Roy Zuck . I wandered if you can give me some leading information. Everything I read should be of a sound doctrine and accuracy.
Blessings,
Marina

Hi!
If you know Greek check this text at the library of the Church of Greece, a well documented study, The institution of the Deaconesses in the Orthodox Church and the possibility of its reviving, by Evang. Theodorou.
